テックカルチャー・メディア『WIRED』日本版編集長として「ニューエコノミー」「デジタル・ウェルビーイング」「ミラーワールド」などを特集。東京都出身、鎌倉在住。1996年にNHK出版に入社、翻訳書の版権取得・編集・プロモーションなどを幅広く行う。2014年よりNHK出版放送・学芸図書編集部編集長。手がけたタイトルに、ベストセラー『FREE』『SHARE』『MAKERS』『シンギュラリティは近い』のほか、2015年ビジネス書大賞受賞の『ZERO to ONE』や『限界費用ゼロ社会』、Amazon.com年間ベストブックの『〈インターネット〉の次に来るもの』など多数。一方、世界的ベストセラー『BORN TO RUN?走るために生まれた』の邦訳版を手がけて自身もランナーとなり、今は鎌倉に移住し裏山のトレイルを走っている。『脳を鍛えるには運動しかない！』『GO WILD?野生の体を取り戻せ！』『マインドフル・ワーク』『NATURE FIX?自然が最高の脳をつくる』など身体性に根ざした一連のタイトルで、新しいライフスタイルを提示してきた。2018年6月より現職。

As Editor-in-Chief of WIRED Japan, which is a tech, lifestyle, and culture media organization, recently featuring issues on NEW ECONOMY, DIGITAL WELL-BEING, MIRROR WORLD, and so on. Born in Tokyo and lives in Kamakura. Started career in NHK Publishing from 1996 as a book editor. Responsibilities included acquisition, editing, and marketing of translated books. In addition to the best sellers FREE, SHARE, MAKERS, and The Singularity Is Near, which captured the paradigm shift of the digital society, titles that handled included: ZERO to ONE, awarded the 2015 Business Book Award; The Zero Marginal Cost Society, winner of many awards including Amazon.com’s "Best Book of the Year; and, The Inevitable. After working on a Japanese translation of BORN TO RUN, one of the world’s bestselling books, also became a runner and runs on the mountain in Kamakura. A series of other titles rooted in physicality, including Spark, GO WILD, Mindful Work, and The NATURE FIX, have presented the possibility of a new lifestyle. Has held present WIRED post since June 2018.
