北海道大学大学院水産化学研究科博士前期課程修了。2003年株式会社ニチレイ入社。2010年イギリスノッティンガム大学客員研究員。入社以来、おいしさに関わる品質の定量化研究に携わる。特に2008年からは、イギリスノッティンガム大学のスピンアウトカンパニーであるFLAVOMETRIX Limitedと共同で、喫食中に口中から喉を通り鼻腔に抜けて感じる香り、レトロネーザルアロマの研究とその計測装置（MS Nose 2）の開発に取り組む。現在は、新規事業プロジェクト”Conomeal”にも技術担当として参画。
 
After completing master’s degree in Fisheries Sciences at Hokkaido University, he joined Nichirei Corporation in 2003. Visiting Researcher at University of Nottingham, UK in 2010. He researched to analyze flavor (mainly taste and aroma) of wide variety of food at Nichirei. Since 2008, he has been managing a collaborative project with FLAVOMETIRX Limited which is a spinout company from University Nottingham. Retronasal aroma which is aroma release from mouth to nose through throat during eating is a main research object at the project. An analytical instrument, MS Nose 2 to analyze retronasal aroma was developed at the project. He is also promoting a new business project from Nichirei, “Conomeal” as a chief of Technology.
